Bill Johnson | President & Chief Executive Officer, Farm Credit Mid-America

Bill Johnson
Bill became president and CEO in March 2011. He comes to Farm Credit from AgriBank of St. Paul, where he was executive vice president – business services. He has a 30-year career within the Farm Credit System, starting as a credit analyst in Huntingburg, Indiana, and then accepting positions in credit and marketing at the Farm Credit Bank of Louisville. In 1990, Bill moved to Northwest Farm Credit Services in Spokane, Washington, serving in a number of capacities, including executive vice president and chief information officer. Bill transferred to Farm Credit Financial Partners, Inc., a System-owned technology company, as executive vice president and later as EVP – chief risk and information officer at AgriBank. Bill serves as director for Farm Credit Council Services, University of Evansville Board of Visitors and the Local Food Association, a non-profit organization in Louisville. He holds a finance degree from the University of Evansville and an MBA from Gonzaga University.

Rodney Hebrink | President & Chief Executive Officer, Compeer Financial

Rodney Hebrink
Rod is responsible for the success of Compeer – ensuring it has a robust strategic plan focused on serving rural America, and executing the plan to achieve extraordinary client service and value to its stockholders. Effective July 1, 2017 with the merger of AgStar Financial Services, 1st Farm Credit Services and Badgerland Financial, Rod became CEO of Compeer Financial.

Rod previously served as CEO at AgStar. He had been with AgStar and its predecessor organizations since 1985. Prior to coming to AgStar, he held positions in corporate agri-business banking with Norwest and the St. Paul Bank for Cooperatives. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he obtained a degree in Agricultural Business Administration. He received the Wall Street Journal Award for Academic Excellence. He also completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. 

David Janish | Chief Executive Officer, FCS Financial / Vice Chair

David Janish
David was named chief executive officer of FCS Financial as of August 1, 2013. He has over 36 years of experience in the Farm Credit System in a variety of management, operations, business services and information technology roles. Prior to joining FCS Financial, David was chief operations officer at CoBank where he provided overall direction for the operations of the Wichita banking center as well as leading the integration of operations following the merger of CoBank and U.S. AgBank. Prior to assuming his role with CoBank, he served as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer for U.S. AgBank. Previously, David served as president and CEO of AgVantis, Inc. He represents the CentRic Technology Collaboration which includes FCS Financial, GreenStone FCS, AgHeritage, Delta, Farm Credit Midsouth, Farm Credit Southeast Missouri, FCS of Mandan, FCS of North Dakota and FCS of Western Arkansas.

David was raised on a diversified livestock, row crop and grain operation near Kimball, South Dakota. He received Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of South Dakota, and an MBA in Finance from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Jeffrey Swanhorst | Chief Executive Officer, AgriBank / Chair

Jeffrey Swanhorst
Jeffrey Swanhorst became CEO of AgriBank in April 2018. A 35-year veteran of the Farm Credit System, he joined AgriBank in 2011 as chief credit officer with responsibility for all credit functions, including Wholesale Lending, Commercial Lending, Credit Review and Credit Risk Management. In addition, Swanhorst served on various System leadership committees, including the System Disclosure Committee and System Credit Work Group. He is also directly involved in communications, on behalf of the AgriBank District, with rating agencies, investors in Systemwide debt securities and other key stakeholders.

Swanhorst previously was senior vice president of credit at CoBank. While at CoBank, he served in credit and relationship management leadership roles beginning in 1999. Prior to that, Swanhorst's Farm Credit career was in lending and management with the St. Paul Bank for Cooperatives, and he began his career as a lending officer with the Mitchell-Huron Production Credit Association in South Dakota.

Swanhorst has a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business from South Dakota State University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
